Slow Cooking Ribs in the Oven

slow cooking ribs in the oven

Pork Ribs
Barbecue Sauce

Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Cut pork ribs into 3 bone pieces.
Brush with Barbecue Sauce and place bone side down in shallow roaster. Add a little water just to cover bottom of roaster. Cover and roast for 2 hours and 15 minutes. The low heat and longer cooking time is the real key to making the most tender, juicy meat.
Remove cover and brush more sauce onto top of ribs. Cook for an additional 45 minutes or till meat is fork tender. For the last 45 minutes brush additional sauce on two or three more times. Leaving the cover off will allow the sauce to stick to the ribs.If you see that the meat is becoming too dry, make sure there is still a little liquid on the bottom of the roaster, and cover for the rest of the cooking time.

Ribs are wonderful when served with roasted potato wedges. The potatoes will be coloured and flavoured by the dripping sauce on the meat and will be both appetizing and delicious
