Perfect Pizza - Best Recipe (Simple)


Description

Finally, a recipe that works. A pizza that is not soggy. A pizza that is home made, thin or classic crust with a freshly made dough.

I made pizza countless number of times and the primary complaint I always had was that the base became soggy. In fact, the base does not become soggy no matter how many fresh ingredients you put on top. This recipe, is absolute perfection. I will use it again and again, and so will you no doubt. Actually this recipe will rival Pizza Hut or Dominos.

This is the only recipe you'll ever need for making fresh home made pizzas.

Ingredients

For Making Dough:
300g Strong white bread flour
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp salt
170ml water
1/2 tsp yeast

For Putting on Dough:
Tomato sauce / puree
Grated Mozzarella Cheese
Any ingredients that you wish - chopped onions, sliced olives, chopped cherry tomatoes, sliced mushrooms and so on.

Directions

1. Either mix and knead the ingredients by hand, use a mixer with dough hook or use a bread maker to do the kneading for you. Knead the dough until the dough is smooth and elastic.
2. Press out dough using the heel of your hand or use a rolling pin to stretch it out into a 25cm (10") circle or two 25cm (10") circles for thin and crispy base on a greased or non stick baking tray (a stone or metal one with holes in it works wonders).
3. If you don't want a thin pizza, then preheat your oven to 40C/105F and stick your rolled out / stretched out dough into the oven for approx. 20 mins and allow it to double in size.
4. Spread a thin covering of tomato sauce / puree all over the base. Add toppings of your choice and bake in a preheated oven at 220C/425F/Gas Mark 7 for 15 - 20 minutes, depending on amount of topping. Keep an eye on your cheese, that will tell you when it's done, it should look like something in the picture.

Tip:
to freeze pizza bases follow steps 1, 2 and 3, then bake without toppings for 5 minutes. Allow to cool, freeze. To use, remove from freezer and immediately add toppings and bake as in step 4.
