Description
Garlic bread.. only not what you think.. this is garlic rye bread. A popular Lithuanian snack that I've enjoyed countless number of times. So I decided to make some tonight and upload this recipe. This goes very well with a pint of beer. Not too difficult, very tasty.
Ingredients
Rye bread
A good splash of vegetable oil (we used rapeseed oil)
A few garlic cloves, peeled
Directions
Simple:
1 - Slice up your bread to thin slices, this will make the bread crispy.
2 - Get out a frying pan heat it up on medium heat and add a good splash of vegetable oil
3 - Lay out your bread slices into the frying pan and cook until golden on the underside, or approx. 1 minute. Flip over and continue for another minute.
4 - Remove from frying pan onto kitchen towel to absorb some of the excess oil
5 - While still warm, rub the garlic clove well into both sides of the bread for all slices
6 - Let cool and serve.
Lovely.
