Scottish Clapshot


Description

Enjoy this healthy dish made with mashed swede and potato (or neeps and tatties). Serve alongside haggis, stews or roasted meats for a warming meal.

Ingredients

750g potatoes
1 swede, around 500g cut into 2cm cubes
1 onion, finely chopped
1 knob of butter
1 dash of milk
Salt and black pepper

Directions

1. Place the potatoes, swede, onion and a teaspoon of salt into a large saucepan and cover with water. Place a lid on top and bring to the boil.

2. Reduce to a simmer and cook for 15-20 min until the vegetables are cooked.

3, Mash with a knob of butter, splash of milk and a very good grinding of black pepper and serve.
